1 John 4:9-11
"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."
Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in and with life around us, that we completely lose sight of the life within us. God came to us in human form, died on the cross, arose alive and sent His Holy Spirit to dwell inside of us. All of this was done because His love is so great we cannot even imagine it!
I look at this world with all it's foul and filth and the subtle way we are being slowly subjected to and becoming more and more complacent to all of it and I have a hard time understanding how and why that unfailing love is still being showered upon us every minute of everyday.
1 John 3:1
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him."
I do not want this world to know me as one of it's own. I want God to know me as one of His. I pray for this world, my heart aches for this world and I beg God for mercy on this world. But no matter what this world is doing or saying or trying to cover my eyes with, I do not concede. I actively choose daily to close my eyes, bow my head and rebuke the evils of this world and ask His forgiveness for this world.
My prayer for us today is that God opens our eyes and hearts to the subtle words and images this world is gently trying to slip into our beliefs. May we wake each day and ask Him to open our eyes, hearts and minds to His own and bless us with the wisdom to know the difference in His voice and the words of this world. I Thank You Father for your unmeasurable love, grace and mercy and am grateful for you showering me with it! In your loving name I pray, Amen.
